📄 Job Description Template
A job description is usually the first thing a candidate sees. Most of them do a terrible job. They read like a shopping list, use language nobody talks in, and say nothing about why someone should actually want the role. This template is built to do the opposite. Use it, adapt it, make it yours.
About [Company Name]
[Write 2 to 3 sentences about your company. What do you do? What do you care about? Why is it a good place to work? Be specific and honest. Skip phrases like fast-paced, dynamic, or innovative. They mean nothing. Say something real.]
About the Role

What You Will Do
[Primary responsibility, starting with the most important] [Second responsibility] [Third responsibility] [Ongoing operational tasks] [Collaboration and stakeholder elements] Write outcomes, not just tasks. What will this person actually achieve in 12 months?
What We Are Looking For

If you can teach it in the first month, it is not essential.] [Second essential requirement] [Third essential requirement] Nice to Have (not required): [Skills that would be useful but are not dealbreakers] [Second desirable attribute] Keep the essential list short. Every requirement you add reduces your candidate pool. Most job descriptions have twice as many requirements as they actually need.
